Binance Will Open a Blockchain Hub in Georgia

Crypto exchange Binance announced the creation of a new blockchain hub in Georgia, calling this country one of the most innovative in the region, and expressed its readiness to actively participate in the development of its crypto industry.

As part of the project, Binance hopes to attract more specialists to the blockchain sector, promote educational programs and contribute to the overall development of the Georgian crypto industry, the report said. Currently, the local Binance team has 25 people, but plans to create “dozens more jobs” by the end of the year.

In November 2022, the head of Binance, Changpeng Zhao, visited Georgia and met with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, and also talked with local members of the crypto community. In 2023, Binance signed memorandums of cooperation with five Georgian universities. In addition, the exchange and the Georgian Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA), the government agency responsible for the development of technology and innovation, have entered into a partnership through which GITA will support Binance’s initiatives aimed at accelerating the development of the digital asset industry in Georgia.

In 2022, Zhao also met with the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, they discussed cooperation in the field of blockchain and crypto education. After that, the exchange entered into an agreement with the state bodies of Kazakhstan on the launch of an educational course on blockchain in universities.
